"Eat Right, Your Way, Every Day!"
March is National Nutrition Month and this year's title is: "Eat Right, Your Way, Every Day." The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics picks the theme each year to encourage people to go to dietitians for their nutritional questions and to remind people, as spring approaches, the benefits of eating healthy. Since I am a student of the academy, I feel it is very important for me to keep up with the latest updates and news, so I can educated myself and others better.
There are many types of "diets" out in the streets these days and it can be difficult to find one that is right for you. I do not believe in "diets", since they usually cut out a food group or they only last for a couple weeks or months. I believe that instead of focusing on a short term weight loss, it is better to focus on a lifestyle for a lifetime. Making it a lifestyle will get easier as it goes on, the results will continue, it will provide more energy, your taste buds with start to enjoy the foods you once were not crazy about, you can treat yourself more often, better for your health now and when you are older, and you will live a very energetic, positive life.
For this March, focus on personalizing your eating plan. Going to a registered dietitian to get it started, is a great way to make sure you are getting proper nutrition for your body. A great website to visit is www.eatright.org.
