A newby to blogging!

Hello blogging world!
I am so excited to share about the  important aspects of my life: fitness and nutrition. It took me awhile to actually get to this point of getting this blog started.  I have to thank Becky for helping me get started!

I am hoping that people can read my blog and take a few nutrition/ fitness tips away from it! I have a passion for helping people get the confidence they need through eating nutritionally and finding the workouts that work best for them.

Currently, I am helping a few of my friends with their diet and fitness protocol.  It is so rewarding to have people come to me for help and support.  I want to be along their side through the process so they never lose hope. It takes a lot of effort and hard work, but in the end it will pay off!

Some things about me:
My family owns a farm and farm market.  I am very blessed that the Lord provided me with such goodness from the earth that is in such easy access to me. Having such amazing different fruits and vegetables at hand, I would experiment with different recipes.  I enjoy the challenge of healthy cooking and baking it is very difficult to cook something good for you and delicious. Anyone can use oil, egg, water, and box mix to make a delicious brownie, but a real challenge is making it from scratch and using nutritious ingredients like beans or whole wheat flour and still getting that fudgy brownie while getting some nutrition from it. My brothers are my biggest taste testers since they do not watch what they eat. Whenever I make a healthy recipe I try it on them to see if I get the approval.  I like to have other people taste my recipes, so I get feedback on what I can change next time.

Along with fruits and vegetables, I love working out. I have done many races: a few 5k's, Broad Street 10 miler, Seaside half marathon, Philly half marathon (2011), Baltimore half marathon, Philly half marathon (2012), and the tough mudder.  I also enjoy strength training, cross training, and yoga. I feel that my body needs to be balanced with different types of fitness.
