"Break the fast"
"Break the fast" is exactly what breakfast does. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and many people skip it. It is important to get protein and carbohydrate in this meal. Protein and fiber will keep you satisfied longer!
My breakfast varies from omelets, cold cereals, and hot oatmeal. This morning I made a smiling broccoli omelet with a 100% whole wheat sandwich thin.

Smiling Broccoli Omelet
Serves: 1
Ingredients:
- one whole egg
- one egg white
- 1/4 cup of broccoli
- Sprinkle of garlic powder
- Sprinkle of onion powder
- Sprinkle of pepper
- Water
- 1/2 Teaspoon of olive oil
- 1 100% whole wheat sandwich thin
- Use your imagination: low fat cheese, hot sauce, other vegetables, lean meats, etc.
Directions:
- In a microwave bowl, add enough water to cover the bottom. Add broccoli and slightly cover with a lid. Place in microwave for 1 minute.
- In another bowl, crack both eggs, add a splash of water, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper.
- Turn stove to low heat, add olive oil.
- Once heated, add broccoli than add egg mixture.
- Cook on each side for 2-3 min (or until your desire brown-color)
- Toast sandwich thin.
- Eat separately or a sandwich and enjoy!

- Whole grain english muffin with lean ham and eggs.
